About Chiropractic
Did you know that chiropractic care traces its roots back to Hippocrates? He believed that spinal alignment played a crucial role in overall health.

Modern chiropractic practice, however, began in 1895 when Dr. Daniel Palmer performed an adjustment on a man who had lost his hearing 17 years earlier. According to the story, the man had heard a popping sound in his back before his hearing declined. After Dr. Palmer realigned a misaligned vertebra, the man's hearing significantly improved.

Although the medical community initially criticized this new approach to healing, those who followed in Dr. Palmer’s footsteps discovered an innovative way to address illness and disease. His theories continue to shape chiropractic care today. Despite facing skepticism in his time, Dr. Palmer’s contributions paved the way for millions of people to experience the life-changing benefits of chiropractic treatment. Today, a school still bears his name, and more than 20 chiropractic schools train thousands of students across the country.
How does it work?
Chiropractic care is based on the principle that removing structural and postural imbalances allows the body to heal itself naturally. For optimal function, the network of nerves that carries signals from the brain through the spinal cord must remain free of interference. Chiropractors are trained to identify and correct these misalignments, helping the body perform at its best.
If you've ever been in a car accident, played a sport, fell down or just bumped into something too hard, it's very possible that you are not functioning at your best due to a misalignment. While there are many potential mechanical or structural causes for misalignment, there are also chemical reasons. For instance, if you smoke or drink excessively or even just have a poor diet, the chemical issues in your body can eventually cause underlying conditions and disease to appear.
Chiropractic care helps restore balance both structurally and chemically, allowing the body to function optimally and maintain overall well-being.Allowing a chiropractor to get you back on track both chemically and structurally will bring your body back to the proper state it should be in to perform at its peak.
Taking A Natural Systemic Approach To Healing
Chiropractic care takes a holistic approach to health, based on the belief that the body is self-sustaining and self-healing. The brain, through its connection to the spinal cord and an extensive network of nerves, controls nearly every function in the body. When this system is not operating at its peak, overall health and performance can be compromised.

Unlike conventional medicine, chiropractic care does not rely on drugs or prescriptions to treat patients. While nutrition and supplementation often play a role in overall wellness, chiropractors focus on addressing the root cause of health issues rather than simply masking symptoms with medication.

Although chiropractic care is often associated with treating back and neck pain, its benefits extend far beyond that. Chiropractors address both soft and hard tissue conditions, such as sciatica and joint pain, but they are also sought out for more complex health concerns, including fibromyalgia, allergies, insomnia, headaches, and more. By restoring balance and function to the nervous system, chiropractic care supports the body's ability to heal and thrive naturally.
